Introduction to My Blog

Welcome to my blog! Throughout this semester I will be blogging weekly about my research and experiences in my 20% project. I have chosen to do my project on my future career path, the ministry.

Research Introduction

For the first multiple weeks of this blog I will be posting research about the different divisions in the ministry that I am interested in and what each of those divisions consist of. The main three career choices I will focus on are as follows:

  • Pastor of a church
  • Youth Minister
  • Missionary
Because the ministry is such a unique field of work, many of the statistics I will be finding are only averages and may not be exact, but I hope that this will help me in determining my future goals and help you, the reader, in learning more about this career path.

Experience Introduction

Although all of the statistics about my future career are extremely important.Towards the end of the semester I will be uploading pictures and videos of all of the work that I have accomplished in the field of ministry. I plan on volunteering as much as possible in my church, The Fellowship at Two Rivers, and may also have the chance to go to a mission trip in Memphis, Tennessee with First Baptist Church of Hendersonville. According to the FBCH website:
"Students will work with "Street Reach’, a local faith-based organization aimed at benefiting inner-city Memphis. This trip will challenge students to live out their faith and share Christ with others through their words and actions. Students will engage in Service Projects, Backyard Bible Clubs and Block parties."
This mission trip is during the Sumner Country Spring break and is specifically designed for the middle school ministry. I will be going as an "adult" leader in order to help the middle school students in their work, and also to minister to the impoverish areas of Memphis.

In addition to the one time mission trip I will be participating in, I will also be accomplishing weekly task. At my church, The Fellowship, I will begin to lead worship in my youth ministry and post pictures. I also hope to be able to lead at least one lesson during my youth group Wednesday nights.

Curiosity 1/1 definitely gave us background we needed
Evidence 3/3 this wasn't your best suit here, but you did the minimum, considering there wasn't much to research on this first one.
    Explanation 2/2 good
    Vocabulary 1/2 some profession-specific vocabulary
